Bray 3rds v Monkstown 6ths (6-0)

A very hot October Saturday evening the Bray Ladies 3rds set out to Rathdown School to play their third league match against Monkstown. Having had an amazing start to the league, the ladies thirds were hungry to maintain their reputation. Big thanks to Yani for being our ref once again and Laura McCarthy who may be our number one supporter yet.

The game started strong with the ladies thirds straight into their attacking mode.  After settling into the game, the ladies began to pass the ball around to open in the pitch and create great game play. Great work from the defence Kate Brooks, Caroline Kennedy, Niamh Byrne and Caoimhe Hardiman (now christened Hardy) playing the ball out wide to mids Michelle Lambert, Nuala McGann, Juliette Kinghall and Helen Kingston who all carried the ball strongly dodging defenders as they worked their way up the pitch.  Halfway through the first half, the ladies thirds became unstoppable with a cracking first goal from our blonde bombshell Juliette Kinghall (Trish can vouch for the power behind the balls Julz hits). The ladies thirds worked hard to get around Monkstown’s tough defence where Caoimhe Guilfoyle and Nuala McGann scored a goal each with only minutes between the two. Nuala wasn’t quite finished scoring as she scored a whopper second goal moments before the whistle blew for half time.

After a quick pep talk from the fabulous Coach Ruth McDonagh, the ladies thirds were back on the pitch with no complacency fighting once again. Exquisite passing between the forwards, Aisling Dalby, Sarah Martin and Ali Kavanagh which lead to a beautiful strike by Juliette Kinghall that was saved by the quick goalie. Sarah Martin was quicker though and in on the rebound to take the fifth goal of the match. The match pace was fast with centre back Kate Brooks working her way up the pitch around the defenders to finish with a remarkable sweep straight past the goalie!

Thanks to Emma Groves for subbing up after already playing her own match with the 4ths and a special shoutout to our player of the match Aisling Dalby who never stopped fighting throughout the match!

A great 6-0 win once again from the Bray Ladies Thirds; can they keep this reputation up? Why of course they can!!!
