2018 has started with a bang with both the Mens 2nds and Ladies 1sts securing victories over the weekend. The M2s travelled to Naas for a league fixture on Saturday morning and came home with 3 points after a 3-1 win. Simon Anglin was on the mark twice and Adam Brennan also scored.
On Sunday, the Ladies 1sts were in action in the first round of the Jacqui Potter Cup. They were hosted by Monkstown 2nds on a crisp afternoon in the Merrion Fleet Arena. Monkstown took the lead in the first half but the Bray Ladies fought back in their usual spirited style in the second half. A well won PC was awarded with Megan Shelley calmly equalising to bring the sides level. Just a few minutes later a superb pass from midfielder Shelley Richardson to Ruth McDonagh on the right wing. McDonagh nicked the ball past the defender and thumped a cracker towards the posts for Megan Shelley to finish with a lovely touch, making it 2-1. There were further chances for both sides with Monkstown awarded a PC on the final whistle only to put it wide. The L1s meet UCD 2nds in Bray in the second round this Saturday.
