The Ladies Vets were in action last Thursday as they travelled to Stillorgan to take on Genesis. After a recent loss on the cards, the Vets stormed home with a comprehensive 4-0 win. Cathy Brock on the mark twice, her sister Joanne got one as did Michelle Lambert!

 

The Ladies 3rds were due to host Monkstown 6ths in TempleCarrig on Saturday, however the Monkstown side were unable to field a team and called for a postponement, this left just the two 1sts squads in action for the day.

 

First up on Saturday was the Men's 1sts who took on Three Rock 3rds in the Railway Cup. An exciting affair that ended 3-3 a piece at full-time, Alan Lewis, Adam Brennan and Cian Hussey scoring in match time whilst Sean Brennan, Steven Jones and Grattan Evan put their shoot-outs away to take a 3-1 win over Three Rock and a spot in the Quarter Finals of ther Railway Cup, wheer they will travel to Tallaght to meet Glenanne 2nds on the 17th February. The Ladies 1sts had an equally exciting fixture in the Irish Hockey Trophy on Saturday as they took on Division 1 side, Avoca in Loreto Bray. Megan Shelley gave Bray the lead in the first half, whilst Avoca struggled to convert numerous attempts against Player of the Match and goalkeeper, Laura McCarthy. The second half, saw Avoca struggle to convert from one of their 15 penalty corners, however they secured a penalty stroke and closed out the match as a 1-1 draw. Shoot-outs were up next and Charlotte Willis, Ruth McDonagh and Megan Shelley all put theirs away to secure a 3-2 win, with Laura McCarthy making some crucial saves also.  The L1s will play Three Rock 1sts in the Quart er Finals of the Irish Hockey Trophy on 17th February.

 

On Sunday, the Mens 2nds were in action out in Lucan as they played St. James's's's's's Gate. With another win in the bag and another 3 points to the tally, the lads came home with a 4-1 win, Sam Fleming, Simon Anglin, Sean Fleming and Cian Brennan scoring.

This weekend the Mens 1sts take a break but all other squads are in action, notably the Ladies 3rds who travel to Kilkenny on Saturday morning for their Cup Quarter Finals against Portlaoise.  All fixtures can be found below:
