Results (6 & 7 Jan) and Fixtures (12 Jan)

January 10, 2019

As we slowly creep our way back to the hockey pitch, some of the teams have already been back in action.

On Saturday the Ladies 3rds played a friendly against Genesis, winning 2-0, goalscorers were Laoise Horgan and Anna Lalor.

Sunday was a busy day with the Ladies Indoor, Ladies 2nds and 4ths all in league action.  The 2nds and 4ths hosted Botanic in re-fixtures from before Christmas. It was a comprehensive 4-1 win for the 2nds with Juliette Kinghall scoring a hat-trick and Alison Dawson Whelan with a worldy. The 4ths were less fortunate and unfortunately lost 0-1.

On the indoor court, the Mens squad unfortunately pulled out of the league, however the Ladies came up against the very established and experienced Glenanne. Putting on a strong performance the ladies had the Glens worried early on, however the Glens experience came through and they took the victory with a comprehensive 5-0 win against Bray.

A notable mention to the Under 14 Girls who competed in the Portrane Indoor Tournament for the first time also on Sunday. Some superb performances and a place in the Shield confirmed for Sunday 20th.  Their results were as follows:

Win V TRR 2-0, Ally and Charlotte Finnegan Quirke scoring
Lost V Boyne 0-1
Lost V Dublin North 0-1
Lost V Old Alex 0-1
Drew V Avoca 0-0

On Wednesday night the Ladies Vets were also back in action and took hone 3 points against Old Alex with a 1-0 win and Michelle Williams scoring.
