It was Wednesday Night Lights for the Ladies 1sts who travelled to Stillorgan for a preseason friendly against Genesis. Genesis set a frantic pace from the get go, however Bray settled in and took the lead with Megan Shelley converting. The score remained the same for the 2nd and 3rd quarters with Bray dominating throughout but unable to get the outcomes in the D they were looking for. Finally Bray extended their lead through Juliette King Hall just a minute into the final quarter and from there on it was all Bray leaving Genesis shell-shocked with a 6-0 loss against them at full-time. The 4 additional goals were shared between Megan Shelley, Saoirse Guilfoyle, Vicky Coen and another from King Hall.
Saturday was the start of the Leinster leagues for the Mens side, with the 3rds falling to a cancellation on a Friday night. The Mens 1sts were away to Kilkenny for their first Division 1 match. Schoolboy Daniel Plunkett scored, Cian Hussey missed from close range and the Men travelled home with a 1-3 loss. The Mens 2nds were also on the road, this time to Sandymount to play Pembroke. Jason Sprenger scored a brace but it wasn't enough as the home side took the spoils with a 2-4 win.
On the Ladies side, it was the final week of preseason. The Ladies 1sts hosted Division 1 side Clontarf in Loreto. A tight, end to end match, ending 1-2 to the visitors. Megan Shelley on the mark. The 2nds were away to Clontarf and came home with a 4-2 win under their belts. Ruth McDonagh, Claire Prendersgast, Alison Dawson-Whelan and Sonia Rodriguez all scoring. The Ladies 3rds welcomed Avoca to Bray and had a confident 5-0 win on their first outing as a squad. Sophie McKenna with a hat-trick and Lara Dawson-Whelan and Nuala McGann with one each. The final match of the day was a mix of the Ladies 4ths and 5ths against Avoca ending 1-1 with Club Vice-President Caoimhe Guilfoyle scoring on her return to the pitch after 18 months out. Legend.
