October 10th was World Mental Health Day.
Anyone can have a day where things are not quite right, a day they struggle to get through or to even just see some small positives. To symbolise this, and reduce stigma and discrimination about mental health, we encouraged our club members to wear odd socks to training and donate (if they wish) to AWARE.
On the night pretty much every player from our 5 Ladies and 3 Mens sides, across both Loreto and TempleCarrig pitches got involved. A big thanks also to the Loreto Bray Senior Girls squads for taking part also.
Bray HC prides itself as a family and one that is open to all. We have all lost loved ones over the years through depression and other mental health illnesses. We stood together last night as one, demonstrating we are here in this together. Opening the doors to talk, reaching out to those that are struggling and remembering those we have lost along the way.
Donations, if you still wish to donate, can be made online directly to Aware, by clicking here.
